The Don Stevens team recently had the opportunity to participate in the 39th Annual Toby Tournament, held at Mendakota Country Club. This annual event, dedicated to raising scholarship funds for hospitality students through the Toby Landgraf Memorial Educational Fund, brings together industry professionals for a day of golf, connection, and support for the next generation of hospitality leaders.

As an official event sponsor, Don Stevens was proud to support this year’s tournament and contribute to a cause that plays such a meaningful role in advancing hospitality education. Our team also added a new element of fun on the course with a game we created — Manitowoc Ice Breakers — which gave attendees a chance to pause, play, and enjoy some friendly competition at our sponsored hole.

The Toby Tournament was established in 1986 in memory of Toby Landgraf, who was a strong advocate for education within the foodservice industry. Since then, the tournament has raised more than $600,000 in scholarships for Minnesota students through partnerships with the University of Wisconsin–Stout, Hospitality Minnesota Education Foundation, ACF – Minneapolis Chapter, and the Upper Midwest Chapter CMAA.

Each August, this event serves as a reminder of the industry’s commitment to investing in future talent, while also offering a chance for participants to connect and collaborate in a meaningful way. Don Stevens is grateful to have been part of this year’s event and looks forward to continuing our involvement in the years ahead.
